It was a peaceful day out in space, if you didn't mind the fact that you were in a Cosmic Naval Vessel. Which, Leonardo did. He didn't like the military, much less being out in space. He preferred gravity, like his home one Earth had. The best part was that he was in the Earth Sphere Alliance Federation, which should be on Earth! In fact, this is just what he was thinking of when the music started. If you could call a dozen alarms going off at once music.
"You know the music, time to dance!" the lunch attendant yelled above the noise. Leonardo went, casually, to the hanger where his new mobile suit was held. Everyone called it the Adrenaline, but the start-up system called itself the G.U.N.D.A.M. Oh the military and their acronyms, he thought to himself.
His suit was already on, the helmet was inside the cockpit, located on top of the machine's "chest." This helmet was put onto his head as he went inside and sat down. The hatch on the top shut as he pressed a button. Another button to start the system, and one more to run through a system check.
"All Green," he said to Hal Lenertz, the chief maintenance engineer for the Gundam.
"Then you're good to go," Was the response he got. "Don't destroy it this time. Please!"
The young pilot chuckled to himself. "You've seen my scores on the simulator, I've gotten better."
"Just go," The impatient engineer replied.
"Alright!" Leonardo switched his comm to the bridge. "This is Leonardo Mancini. Adrenaline, launching!" The system check for the catapult lit up a green line in front of the mech. The pilot crouched the mobile suit down and the catapult was quickly sent forward. When it hit the end it slightly bounced back; the Adrenaline was successfully launched off the ESAFS Hamburg.
It was alone for around 3 second before a beam almost hit it. "Damn, they're close," Leonardo said, not expecting anyone else to reply. The suit whirled around to meet the GM firing upon it. It raised its beam rifle and shot at the GM, the GM's head was succefully hit just prior to exploding. "Scratch one," he explained to the bridge.
"We have our own problems, lieutenant," Was the reply. "You don't need to tell us every time you shoot one down."
Another shot went by followed by one that bounced off the Adrenaline's joint. Two missiles were shot from the Gundam's shoulders towards the two GMs that had fired at it. One explosion of pink followed with another gave teh pilot knowledge of the hits. A missile from a Heavy Type GM was fired and headed toward Leonardo's mobile suit. The suit raised it arm and activated a beam shield which the missile promptly hit. Two, Three, four shots hit the Heavy GM from the beam rifle held by the Gundam.
"Your aim's gettin' pretty good, Kid!" Captain Miller congratulated over the comm. The captain had his own suit, a Gelgoog Anti-Ship type. His suit was colored the same as the Gundam Adrenaline: All white with two red lines, one down the front of the right leg, the other down the front of the right arm. The two were a team even though they both kind of went their own way in battle. If one needed help, the other would help. That's how they were, like brothers.
This was currently displayed as a GM was firing multiple shots at the Gundam, who was blocking them with both of his beam shields. Miller was quick with three shots, the first took out the arm holding the beam rifle, the next hit the shield, the last hit the enemy directly in it's gut-placed cockpit. An explosion, pink due to the atmosphere or lack thereof.
"I owe ya' one," The Gundam pilot joked.
"Naw, kid," The response came/ "You owe me over half a dozen." Two more were shot down by his hands.
"Not near that many, Is it?" Leonardo retaliated. He jockied around another blast and returned the fire. The GM exploded after one shot. Another took its place and fired. the shot hit another joint of the Adrenaline. Maybe they're aiming for my joints... the pilot thought. He commanded the Gundam to pull the Bar from its hip and activate it. This sent up a fine, pink beam. The arm of the mobile suit swept across from the right to left, cutting a GM in half at the chest.
A GM Command Type pulled its own beam saber and swung at the Gundam. The Gundam promptly blocked it with his own, locking the two together. It raised its knee to the GMs gut-located cockpit, pushing it away. That oughta give you whiplash. Leonardo thought. he put the mobile suit's fist to the chest of the GM and activated the shield, cutting the suit in half.
Three more enemy mobile suits were shot down by the Gundam before they pulled back. "Looks like someone doesn't want to play with the big kids anymore." Captain Miller said into the channel. Captain Miller's anti-ship Gelgoog landed on the catapult and walked back to the hanger. The Adrenaline followed suit and went back to its own place in dock 3. "That's a rap, Kid," the Captain stated to Leonardo as he greeted the young pilot on the walkway. The team's maintenance crew, Ricky, Joseph, Maria, "Job," and Chief Lenertz immediately stepped up to buff out any scratches on the two mobile suits.
"I told you I was better," Leonardo joked with the chief.
"Well, if you really were good, we wouldn't be doing this." Hal patted the kid on his back. "Go get your Lunch."
